Week 8

Well this is the last week of class. I am trying to get everything done early so that I can relax a little. We have to write our last essays this week. It is over the modern period but I can't really pick a work that I want to focus on. I am really excited to be finishing up a class early. I actually hadn't realized that this class was ending until about a week ago. Its been fun and thanks for helping me learn about some new works of Literature.

Week 7

Well it is almost the final week of blogging. I have found it very exciting but also forgetful having to keep up a blog. This week we read Mrs. Dalloway. We mostly focused our discussions on the characters and their development throughout the story which was a nice change of pace. Mrs. Dalloway was not my favorite work that we have read but it wasn't the worst.

week 7 blog

This week we read the works of T.S. Elliot. I really like his works of literature and I think that some of them were very influential. One of his most influential poems went completely over my head but I do think it was influential because it talked a lot about universal despair and no one had really ever talked about that very much. It was very interesting to read about people's despair and relate to them.

Week 5 Blog Post!!!

Ah the week of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. This reminds me of my high school days when we read this. In high school I would have dreaded this assignment but now I don't really mind because I have already read it once and remember most of it. While I was reading Goblin Market i got very hungry because of all the fruit they were talking about, but I ended up really liking the poem. This weeks readings were really good. I actually ended up liking them all.

Week 4 Blog

Hey everyone,
So this week in class we had to read the works of Elizabeth Browning, Tennyson, Arnold, Robert Browning, and Rosetti. We also learned about the Victorian time period. I thought this was super interesting because I learned things about the time period and the people of the time period that I didn't know. I didn't really know that the invention of invention started during this time period and I thought it was really cool to learn that. I also thought that it was interesting that they were starting to go against what was normally believed to be right regarding religion and other things during the time.

Last Week

Hey everyone,
Last week was one crazy week and I forgot to post on my blog so I will make it up this week with a post about last week and this week. Last week we read a few poems from Lord Byron for our Romanticism. My favorite poem of his that I read was "When We Two Parted." I thought this poem was so romantic in the way he wrote it because you can tell that he cared a lot about the woman he was talking about. I think that he wrote this poem right after the love of his life died and he was very upset that he had lost her. I think that he really feels lost without her there and he doesn't know what he is going to do without her there.
For this week we read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. I have read this book before and I loved it both times that I have read it. I thought that our discussion topics for this week were really interesting. I think that Victor Frankenstein's upbringing and his childhood were a good thing to discuss because they have a lot to do with his storytelling and the way the story unfolds around him.
